We’re not a bathroom company. We’re the guide we wish we’d had.

Striking Bathrooms is an independent information site for people planning a bathroom, ensuite or laundry renovation in Melbourne’s north and east.

Why this site exists

Most bathroom information online is written by companies trying to sell you a renovation. That’s fine, but it means the advice usually stops right where the awkward questions start: real prices, what goes wrong, and what a quote is actually leaving out.

We wrote the version that answers those questions plainly, because a bathroom renovation is a lot of money and you deserve to understand it before you spend it.

How we make money

We keep the guides free. When you’re ready to get real quotes, you can ask us to connect you with local renovators, and we may earn a referral fee if you go ahead with one. That’s it. It never changes what we tell you, and it never adds to your cost. We’d rather give you the honest version and lose the sale than tell you what you want to hear.

What we don’t do

We don’t quote jobs, do the work, or pretend to. We’re not a builder. Any renovator we point you to is a separate business with their own registration, insurance and contract—always check them yourself.

If you want to reach an actual renovator, our job is to help you find a good one, not to be one.

Where we focus

Melbourne’s northern and eastern suburbs—Greensborough, Rosanna, Eltham, Heidelberg, Bundoora, Ivanhoe, Templestowe, Doncaster, Kew, Camberwell and the areas around them. The prices, rules and trades we write about are Victorian, so the information is local rather than a national average that may not match your quote.
